Lucy Carter Ault

Lucy is family. Well, kind of. Her son married my niece so I’m claiming her as family. You would too if you had a chance. You know how you just feel good energy from some people? Lucy’s like that.

Lucy is a master gardener and I really hoped I could photograph her in her beautiful garden. When it came time to shoot, her garden was in transition due to losing a few trees, so she let me choose where to shoot. I chose the rose garden at Furman University because in mid May, I knew it would be in full bloom. I snipped a few roses from my own garden for her to hold in the photos. No roses were snipped from Furman’s garden. Promise!

If you haven’t see the Furman rose garden in May, I highly recommend you visit to experience thousands of blooms and the amazing fragrance.

As we chatted during the shoot, I was surprised to hear that Lucy earned her masters in Education Administration from where else but you guessed it, Furman University. Kismet.
