I live and paint at the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Greenville, South Carolina. For me, art is how I think, how I come alive, and how I respond to both the beauty and the heartaches of the world.

My creative roots run deep. I grew up immersed in the arts, raised by an artistic father and a watercolorist mother who introduced me to plein air painting. Before I found oils, my creative outlet was photography—a teenage obsession with darkrooms that turned into a rewarding career as a professional photographer. But in 2020, I tried oil painting on linen, and everything shifted.

For years, I worked exclusively outdoors along the Carolinas' border, letting the forests, creeks, and pastures teach me how light, shadow, and atmosphere actually behave. Today, I divide my time evenly between the field and my studio, working under the mentorship of Jim Carson and building on training from incredible artists like Anne Blair Brown, Sarah Sedwick, and David Shevlino.

I don’t paint with an innocent naïveté. I paint because I have lived, and I know that art has the power to bring a much-needed sense of hope to our world.
